Investigations:

• X-ray of the spine – gives us an idea of the bony structures, alignment, fractures etc
• MRI of the spine – Gives information about the disc, muscles, ligaments, facet joints, any tumors etc
• CT scan may be advised if MRI is not possible or if further details on bony structures are needed
• Nerve Conduction tests may be advised if symptoms indicating peripheral nerve damage are present
